What changes

A training partner, not a catalogue of generic classes.

People do not need more exercises that disappear when the lesson ends. They need to handle a difficult meeting, explain technical work, challenge an idea, present clearly, understand fast speech and sound like themselves while doing it.

What programmes often become

1
One syllabus for everyoneDifferent jobs, levels and communication pressure are pushed through the same course.
2
Attendance as the main proofThe business knows who joined, but not what became easier at work.
3
End-of-term testingA score arrives after months of training, disconnected from the actual job.
4
Admin wrapped around the trainingScheduling, follow-up, tutor changes and reports become another internal project.

How SmartLingo runs it

1
Role-specific practiceMeetings, presentations, technical explanation, stakeholder conversations and real work scenarios.
2
Progress you can actually trackWe capture meaningful signals around confidence, clarity, participation and next priorities.
3
Performance checkpointsPractical tasks measure workplace use, not just knowledge of grammar rules.
4
One managed programmeGrouping, tutor fit, learner support, reporting and platform access are coordinated with you.
Programme design

Build around the communication risk, not around a textbook.

We combine live practice, individual learning priorities and structured performance review. Most programmes use micro-groups of two or three, with 1:1 support where confidentiality, role seniority or a specific challenge makes that more useful.

Workplace fluency

English or German for everyday professional use

For teams who need more confidence, range and accuracy in the conversations they already have at work.

  • Meetings, calls and collaboration
  • Role-specific vocabulary and explanation
  • Listening under real speaking speed
  • Practical grammar inside live communication
  • Micro-groups or focused 1:1
Communication performance

Present, influence and work through complexity

For employees whose language is already usable, but whose impact matters in client, technical or cross-functional conversations.

  • Presentations and live Q&A
  • Stakeholder recommendations
  • Negotiation and diplomatic disagreement
  • Technical explanation for mixed audiences
  • Decision-making and problem solving
High-stakes support

Confidential practice for senior or specialist roles

Short, focused work around moments where communication quality has a visible business consequence.

  • Executive messaging and concise answers
  • Important client or internal presentations
  • Leadership communication under pressure
  • Intercultural communication
  • Private 1:1 preparation and feedback

Tutor matching

The right tutor changes the quality of the programme.

SmartLingo does not treat tutor allocation as an afterthought. We look at level, role, confidence profile, communication goals, learning tempo and group dynamics, then build micro-groups and 1:1 routes around the tutor fit that gives each learner the best chance to progress.

1
Built around learning goalsPresentation-heavy roles, technical teams, leaders and lower-confidence learners do not need the same tutoring style.
2
Micro-groups designed professionallyWe group people where level, communication pressure and personality can work together, not just where calendars happen to overlap.
3
Human support stays centralAI can support recap and organisation, but the progress of a programme still depends on strong human tutoring and real relationships.

Data and reporting

Tracking that HR and business leaders can actually use.

The reporting system is designed to answer the questions that matter in real programmes: who is engaged, what is improving, where support is slipping, what needs tutor intervention, what the next learning priorities are and what the wider pattern looks like across the programme.

Human tutoring + smart platform

The best combination is technology that supports people, not replaces them.

SmartLingo uses the platform to make learning more visible and easier to continue between lessons. The tutor still shapes the lesson, protects the relationship, interprets the learning and turns what happened into useful next-step guidance.

Questions worth asking

Before you choose a learning partner.

These are the practical issues that usually decide whether a programme becomes useful, or simply becomes another benefit people are too busy to use.

We start from work pressure and real communication needs, then group people carefully and keep the sessions practical. Attendance patterns are monitored, but the bigger lever is relevance. When the session helps someone handle a meeting, presentation or client conversation this week, it is easier to protect the time.
It should not. We assess level, role, goals, availability and group dynamics together. We then create micro-groups where people can genuinely work together, and use 1:1 support where the role or starting point needs a different route.
We use practical performance tracking rather than relying on attendance or a single grammar score. Checkpoints can include presentations, live Q&A, problem-solving, clarification and persuasive tasks. Reports show strengths, recurring barriers and the next training priorities.
Tutor fit matters. We match people based on level, communication need, role context and teaching style. If the fit is not working, the programme should be able to change tutor without turning it into a learner problem.
The goal is less internal coordination, not more. SmartLingo manages tutor allocation, group structure, lesson operations, progress tracking and programme reporting with an agreed contact on your side. The platform is there to make that visibility simpler.
Yes. Technical explanation, architecture discussions, QA, cloud, product decisions, stakeholder updates and client-facing communication have all appeared in our programmes. The aim is not to teach the technical subject. It is to make complex work easier to explain, challenge and discuss in another language.
No by default. The programme view is designed around attendance, assessment and useful development signals. Raw lesson transcripts and private tutor notes are not intended as management surveillance. Access is role-based and the exact data arrangement is documented with each client.
No. AI can assist with transcription, recap and organising learning data. Tutors remain responsible for feedback and professional judgement. Our performance checkpoints are development tools, not automated employee rankings.
We minimise what is stored and agree the processing model before rollout. Recording is not required by default. Where transcription or AI processing is used, the relevant providers, access, retention and deletion responsibilities are documented in the privacy and data-processing arrangements.
Yes. A small cohort is often the best way to test tutor fit, practical relevance, reporting and internal demand. If the results are good, the model can then expand without redesigning the whole programme.
A useful first conversation

Tell us where communication is getting in the way.

You do not need a finished training specification. Bring the roles, current pain points, learner population and what you want to be different. We will help shape the programme, tutor match and reporting model from there.
